Columella should be longer than the alar base. 2.1 is the ideal angle of the columella and the alar base. You may think of a seagull with open wings(the shape). If the columella is lengthened with foreign substaces excessively it may cause complications. It's much better to use an autologus cartilage. This is an example of silicone revision.
