I use all kinds of materials. Siliconegore-tex donated rib and even your own rib. I explain both positive and negative aspects of each material and make the patient choose the prefered one. I also recommend a few. If you select autologus cartilage then it's expensive; but if you choose to use silicone the cost is less.

Yesterday a patient was operated with silicone because they chose to. There is no material that has only positive aspects thus there is no ideal one but to choose the nearest one to your selection.
