Dear Dr Jung,
I have had 2 rhinoplasties, one in 1996, and the other in 2002, both with silicone implants. The first one was showing signs of skin thinning and extrusion, and removed. The secondary revision was done with slicone implant with nasal mucosa covering the tip, with an alar-plasty. It has lasted me till now. Over the last year, I feel the implant is contracting and the nose is starting to look a little shorter, but it is still nice. The angle between the lip and the columella base is also widening. What do you suggest? Should I get a revision? I feel the tip is a bit high and the length has shortened a little, which has made my lower face look a little longer. I do not want a rib cartilage tip implant as I have seen some people with a very broad nose, and maybe Goretex is better? What do you suggest? Will the swelling be awful from the trauma? Will you have to do a capsulectomy too? Is there an email I can forward you photos to so it is kept private?
Do let me know please.
Thanks so much.
