Rib cartilage was used to augment a short blunt and low nose. When the implant is used for a very low nose there is a risk of getting a strained skin.
Bascially there is no perfectly ideal materials in cosmetic surgery. In case of a using a rib it is much bigger than using the implants and although small it may leave a scar ( about 2.5cm of incision) But if using rib cartilage is possible we can say that the material is good. There is barely any side effects. The reason why rib cartilage is not used in the other clinics is because they can't remove the rib cartilage. Those who have side effect or a low flat nose should consider this surgery.
