Infection is the most dangerous enemy of rhinoplasty. Infection can occur at 1% in any other surgeries such as brain surgery or removal of appendicitis. However since rhinoplasty deals with inserting a material in the nose at 50% the material neeeds to be removed. If removing the material seems to be the best solution then it must be done promptly before the nose turns like Michael Jackson's. Most of the times the patient takes antibiotics for months wishing for the nose to recover because it was a hard operation for both the doctor and the patient. A continuous infection may lead to a serious deformation so it needs to be treated right away. In our clinic we give medicine for 5 days and if it doesn't get better then we remove the material because cosmetic surgery definately shouldn't make one look worse but better. Infection is dangerous but at the contrary; it means that 99% is safe.
