The rib cartilage is the best material for rhinoplasty. However, it also has some disadvantages like warping and scarring. Warping take place in 3-5% of patinets. Scar happens in 10% of patients(see as following a photo). But scar is small(about 3cm) and tends to disappear after steroid injection in a half of patients with scar. There is no perfectly ideal material for rhinoplasty, that's why materials has been to select on its own purpose.
