Actually, we usually do not use general anesthesia. We onlu use general anesthesia only when the patient need rib cartilage harvest or the patient wants.

We do the surgery under local anesthesia, but just with local anesthesia, the patient feel the extream incovenience. So we give a continuous injection to maintain a sleep during surgery. It is different from general anesthesia, because you can breath by your self. It will guide you just to go to sleep.
